Vis is an ideal place for outdoor activities, even in the winter months. It has an average of 2,600 hours of sunshine per year.

For trail running enthusiasts, the rocky coast, dirt paths and hiking routes provide the perfect combination of terrain.
Vis has several popular trail routes, and there are trail maps that have been carefully prepared for them. The most popular and difficult running trail is Vis - Ženka, 19.2 km long with an ascent of 443 m.


If you go around by bike to explore the island's inland you'll see some amazing views and experience magnificent nature at its best.
Vis has very little car traffic so it is ideal for a pleasant ride, but there are some challenging parts with climbs too. If you're looking for a real adventure, there are some beaten paths that extreme cyclists and trail runners use.
The town of Vis is situated in a gulf, with endpoints more than 5 km apart so cycling around the town is very popular.
If you come to the island without your own bike, House Manu has a couple of bikes available for use, and there are many bike rentals on the island.

Vis has many fantastic dive sites. Vertical rocks of northern side of Vis plunging to the depths hide numerous caves, brightly colored sponges, white corals, red gorgonians and lots of exceptional sea inhabitants.
Around island Vis there are about twenty sites with sunken sailing ships, warships, submarines and airplanes, which makes this underwater area the most attractive for diving tourism in this part of the Adriatic.
You can dive in the organization of several well-equipped diving centers, whose owners are licensed and experienced divers.

Due to its strategic location in the Adriatic Sea, Vis has an extremely rich history of naval battles and military bases.
From the famous Battle of Vis in 1881 between the Austrian and Italian navies, through World War II, when Vis was a base for the British Royal Navy, to Tito's Yugoslavia, when Vis was an isolated island for 50 years and foreigners were forbidden to come to the island.
The legacy of this stormy history can be experienced through organized dives to the sites of sunken warships. You can visit 30 different military objects scattered across the island, including fortresses, military subways and labyrinths of tunnels.
